About the presenter
I am a PhD candidate in Geology at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I hold a Bachelor degree in Biology and a Masters in Environmental Science. At this moment, I am visiting CSIRO as an intern Of the Ocean and Atmosphere team, working under the supervision of Prof. Hannelie Botha. Throughout my academic life, I have conducted research on the effects of human intervention in coastal areas. I came across the remote sensing field during my Masters and since then my research has consisted in using remote sensing to create a spectral library of Brazilian coral, and to map the Brazilian coral reefs, more specifically in the State of Bahia coral reef.
