About the presenter
Sara Pastorino has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Marine Sciences at the University of Genova, Italy and a Master’s in Experimental Biology at the University of Pavia, Italy.
Her Master was focused on photo-identification and bioacoustics analysis, to investigate the growth of the Sperm Whale in the Mediterranean sea.
She undertook several research activities, university related, such as the collaboration with the department of Marine Biology (University of Genova, Italy), the CIBRA, Research Centre for Marine Bio-Acoustic (University of Pavia, Italy) and CIIMAR, Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (University of Porto, Portugal).
She participated in Cetacean Monitoring campaigns on board of cargo ships to analyze the distribution and abundance of cetaceans in Macaronesia Region, Atlantic Ocean.
Sara is currently involved in a research project about marine biota of New Zealand’s subantarctic islands at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
