About the presenter
I am a fisheries scientist with CSIRO’s Marine Laboratories in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. I have been with CSIRO for the past 30 years. CSIRO commenced working with Indonesia on their tuna fisheries in the early 1990s and my involvement in these collaborations began in early 2002. The main goal is sustainable fisheries that will benefit both countries, and most importantly contributing to food security for Indonesia’s vast population of over 257 million people. Our primary focus has been, and continues to be, on tuna fisheries, but we have also worked with Indonesia in research aimed at improved management for other marine fisheries, including lobsters, sharks, and sardines.
